If there’s one place that truly captures Ibiza’s free‑spirited soul and artistic energy, it’s Las Dalias Market — a legendary hippy market that has been drawing creative souls, wanderers, and curious travellers for decades. Nestled just outside the village of Sant Carles de Peralta in northern Ibiza, this colourful bazaar is much more than a market: it’s a cultural hub, a sensory journey, and a timeless Ibiza experience.

A Market with Deep Roots and Big Personality

Las Dalias didn’t start as the global phenomenon it is today. In fact, the story began back in 1954 when the site was originally a simple roadside bar and dance hall, gathering locals for celebrations and community events.

It wasn’t until 1985, on a cold Valentine’s Day, that the first tiny hippy market popped up with just five stalls. Over the years, that humble beginning grew into the vibrant Las Dalias we know now — a sprawling weekend destination with over 300 stalls and world‑famous appeal.

What Makes Las Dalias a Must‑Visit

At Las Dalias you’ll discover a joyful mix of craftsmanship, creativity, music, and culture — all set within beautifully landscaped gardens that feel like an oasis beyond the busy beaches of southern Ibiza.

🎨 Craft, Fashion & Handmade Goods

Stroll past rows of stalls and you’ll find:

  • Hand‑made jewellery and accessories

  • Bohemian fashion and Adlib clothing

  • Unique artworks and décor

  • Natural cosmetics and aromatics

  • Exotic musical instruments and vintage finds

Whether you’re hunting for a meaningful souvenir, inspired fashion piece, or simply love browsing artisan craftwork, Las Dalias delivers an eclectic selection that reflects Ibiza’s creative spirit.

🥗 Food & Refreshments

Take a break from shopping with fresh juices, organic snacks, or aromatic mint tea. There are food stalls and cafés scattered throughout the market — perfect for topping up your energy in the sunshine.

🎶 Live Music & Community Vibe

Las Dalias isn’t just about shopping — it’s about atmosphere. Live music, occasional performances and an easy‑going crowd make it feel more like a weekly festival than a marketplace.

Market Times & Experiences

Las Dalias is open year‑round, but its vibe shifts with the seasons:

🛍 Daytime Hippy Market (Main Market)

  • Saturdays: typically from 10:00 am

  • Sundays: usually from 11:00 am
    (Opening times vary by season.)

🌙 Night Market (Summer)
From June to September, Las Dalias transforms after dark with a Night Market on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. This version is a more relaxed, atmospheric experience, with twinkling lights, more than 100 stalls, and often live music and DJs in the warm evening air — Ibiza style.

🌟 Seasonal Markets

On holidays like Easter and Christmas, the Las Dalias market expands into special editions with festive offerings and locally made gifts.

Tips for Visiting Las Dalias

🚗 Arrive early: Weekends are busy, especially in peak season — early arrival helps beat the crowds and traffic.
🧢 Dress comfortably: Expect to stroll and browse for a while — comfy shoes and sun protection are wise.
💶 Bring cash: Many vendors accept cards, but cash can make transactions quicker and easier.
📸 Explore the gardens: The setting is part of the charm — take your time to wander the shaded paths and enjoy the creative atmosphere.

Why Las Dalias Is an Ibiza Favourite

More than just a marketplace, Las Dalias embodies the island’s bohemian heritage and its evolving artistic community. It’s a place where visitors mingle with locals, discover handmade treasures, and soak in a relaxed social vibe that feels distinctively Ibicenco — free‑spirited, colourful, and endlessly creative.

Whether you’re a seasoned Ibiza traveller or here for the first time, Las Dalias is an experience that shouldn’t be missed — a true slice of the island’s heart and soul. 🌿✨
